PENTAGON WINS VEHICLE SAFETY COMPANY AWARD
The Institute of Transport Management has awarded Pentagon Glass Tech Ltd 'Vehicle Safety Company of the Year 2001' for its SupaGlass vehicle glazing reinforcement system. The award is the result of research conducted on behalf of the ITM during the past 12 months. The Institute's awards committee pointed out they were keen to recognise the contribution made by Pentagon to the transport industry.
"Fleet managers are continually looking for ways to reduce insurance premiums and increase the safety of their fleet," said Kieran Ring, Executive Director of the ITM. "Vehicle crime is the most common offence, with almost half committed through breaking vehicle windows. With SupaGlass, Pentagon Glass Tech provides a solution which improves in-vehicle safety and security."
The Institute found that Pentagon distinguished itself from its competitors through the quality of its proprietary systems, its commitment to service and its quality of finish.
"Winning the award of Vehicle Safety Company of the Year 2001 is a great honour for the Pentagon team," said MD David Thomas. "For two years we have worked hard to build awareness of SupaGlass' unique security and safety benefits."
"This recognition by the ITM leadership sends a strong message to all those involved in vehicle and transport management:
That there is a major trade-off between security and human safety in vehicle glazing. With the growing debate on Health,
Safety and Corporate Liability in relation to fleet vehicles, it is essential to find and implement solutions that best
mitigate this trade-off. Pentagon is proud to have ITM recognise that SupaGlass is such a solution."
