SUPAGLASS AIDS PORSCHE DRIVER TO WALK AWAY FROM ACCIDENT

One wet day in March this year, Eric Dowding rounded a bend in his Porsche just as a fox ran across the road. The car slid, hit the verge, and Eric took 8 concrete posts and several small saplings with him as the car rolled three times and came to rest upside down in a ditch.

En route, the rear screen exploded out; the front screen ended up broken but intact, rammed into the ditch. The doors were so badly damaged they could not be opened. Every panel on the vehicle was ripped off or badly smashed.

"The only way out was via the side windows and this was only possible," says Eric, "because they had been treated with Pentagon SupaGlass.

"The driver's window was shattered but SupaGlass held it together. The passenger window had not even broken. And because it was strengthened by SupaGlass, I was able to kick it to bend and fold it outwards. Then I slid over the window and out of the car really quickly."

During the crash, Eric's head hit the driver's window several times. "If it had been untreated glass, then at some point during the crash my head would have been outside the cabin."

"At the very least I would have been severely cut around the face. But if my head had been outside the vehicle as it rolled then - who knows? The policeman who turned up couldn't believe I had got out alive."

Eric is full of praise for Porsche safety systems. The actual cabin remained fully intact. "The only thing that lets it down is the glass in the side windows," he says. "If it hadn't been for SupaGlass then I don't think I would have been back at work within an hour."
